The recent headlines reverberate that the cost of Illinois health insurance policies are skyrocketing. While it is true that certain Illinois health plans are set for magnanimous premium hikes, ranging up to 9 percent, there are financially feasible Illinois health insurance quotes to consider. Use the following questions and tips to attain a low monthly insurance policy:

1) Do the physicians belong to a network, group or organization?

Health maintenance organizations (HMOs) and preferred physician organizations (PPOs) assure physician visits at an affordable rate. Generally, each appointment requires a $20 to $30 co-payment depending on the Illinois health insurance. Moreover, specialist consultations have a higher co payment obligation.

2) What is the annual deductible?

High deductible Illinois health plans represent a surefire means for keeping the monthly premiums for most Illinois health insurance policies. While certain consumers shy away from extremely high deductibles ($3500 and more), these deductibles are generally not including preventative health and annual.

3) What is the total out-of-pocket limit

When comparing Illinois health insurance quotes remember to compare the exclusions of the deductible to the annual cost. For example, physician visits, which are not calculated with the deductible is an actual benefit because; it does not require the subscriber to pay for a routine physician’s visit.

4) What are there any health savings accounts restrictions or guidelines?

As most HSAs are merely medical funds with a wealth of tax advantages, these financial accounts ease the burden of paying for out-of-pocket health services. (Also, make sure that the HSA includes rollover benefits).

Finally, in order to find the best Illinois health insurance, confer with a licensed insurance agent, who can provide you with several Illinois health insurances quotes, to compare coverage and costs.

Now that President Barack Obama’s national health reform bill has breathed new life into the future well-being of Americans, there’s no better time to obtain several Illinois medical insurance quotes – then now. With pre-existing health conditions no longer being a barrier to obtaining a viable Illinois health insurance, individuals can protect against serious illnesses transpiring into life threatening scenarios.

Heart disease is the leading assassin of all chronic conditions. In most cases, people who have insurance tend to have an annual check up and thus the ability to prevent these medical fatalities. With early detection of high blood pressure, high cholesterol and a high body mass index, heart disease can be avoided.

In a recent market study by the Illinois health insurance provider, Aetna:

…almost 60 percent of Americans admit to worrying about having adequate financial means to cover health insurance and medical bills.

More importantly, the national health reform bill has made it possible for the self employed, individuals, who are approaching retirement and others to obtain medical coverage. Now that Illinois health insurance is within reach, anyone who is uninsured should obtain several Illinois medical insurance quotes to compare premiums, co-payments, out-of-pocket costs and so on, advises, President Mike Novelli of Illinois Health and Life.com

According to Aetna, an Illinois health insurance provider, Open Enrollment assures that consumers have the ability to make financially commonsensical decisions about incorporating medical costs with the rest of their financial composite.

Did you know…? It is illegal for any Illinois health insurance agent or representative to use coercive tactics to influence your decision. In other words, Illinois medical insurance quotes are 100 percent hassle-free.

Fortunately, attaining an Illinois health insurance plan in accordance with your budget is a matter of obtaining a minimum of two Illinois medical insurance quotes.

Take advantage of Open Enrollment, by obtaining and clicking on Illinois medical insurance quotes” today.

Is Blue Cross Blue Shields’ My Value an Affordable Michigan Value Health Plan?

With the controversy facing the nation for health reform, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Illinois health insurance company presents Blue Value (SM) — a policy touted as ‘affordably priced’. The plan’s name suggests a medical coverage offering a bevy of benefits. Upon close analysis of the Blue Value health insurance, here are the details:

Plan types: Blue Value is available in three plan types: Blue Value, Blue Value Advantage (SM), and Blue Choice (SM). Each Blue Value Illinois medical insurance program has specific terms, deductibles and premiums to meet various budgets.

The benefits: The plans afford economical premiums with essential coverage and benefits:

Well-child care a $500 maximum, per calendar year maximum for each dependent under 16 years of age

Diagnostic testing

Hospital services

Prescription drug coverage

Dental care

Annual Deductibles / Out of Pocket Limits
Since Blue Value is developed for the budget-conscious consumer, who prefers to assume financial responsibility in order to keep premiums manageable, policyholders have to meet certain annual out-of-pocket expense limits, coinsurance and deductibles.

For instance, the annual out-of-pocket limit for an individual plan ranges from $1,000 to $3,000. For families, Blue Value’s annual out of pocket maximum is between $3,000 and $9,000.

How to Use Blue Value

The Blue Value plan is ideal for Illinoisans, who are basically healthy, requiring annual check-ups for preventative care. Also, Blue Value gives the insured the autonomy to visit any doctor, who does not belong to a designated network. In other words, members do not need a primary care physician or specialist referral.

Although Blue Value’s monthly premiums are lower, policyholders should expect to contribute more to their benefits. However, Blue Choice works for the individual who requires more medical care. The insured saves on covered premiums and medical services provided by affiliated hospitals, and medical specialists with Blue Choice.

To learn more about Blue Value and to compare the cost of the plan to other Illinois health insurance policies, obtain an Illinois health insurance quote.

How to replace UniCare medical coverage with another Illinois health Insurance

On October 27 2009, UniCare Health Insurance Company of the Midwest, UniCare Life & Health Insurance Company, and UniCare Health Plans of the Midwest Inc. (UniCare) released a notification to the Department of Insurance with their plans to depart the individual, commercial, small and large group Illinois health insurance markets.

Subsequent to the renewal date, finding comparable coverage is the priority for most policyholders, whose coverage is due to expire. UniCare is required to provide a 180-day notice. As a result, families and individuals with a renewal date of February 1, 2010 do not have to find another Illinois health insurance plan.

However, policyholders with renewal dates after April 27, 2010 will need to find new coverage. Although, consumers should expect to pay higher premium rates, they should try to seek comparable benefits in a new Illinois health insurance policy:

• Medical coverage that does not impose any pre-existing limitations or has a •6-month pre-existing condition waiting period

• Similar exclusions to the original UniCare plan

• Waived underwriting

• Comparable physician co payments, hospitalization benefits, pharmaceutical coverage.

Since the aforementioned benefits are a bit confusing to understand, obtaining numerous medical quotes from a licensed insurance professional is key to finding a suitable Illinois health insurance plan. President of Illinois Life and Health Mike Novelli, advises consumers to consult an insurance agent / broker who explains the following terms:

An out-of-pocket analysis

Medical care coverage (physician visits, hospitalization, etc.)

Lifetime medical limitations and included benefits

As a result, numerous medical quotes are necessary to compare and find coverage, which covers ones medical needs, accommodating their budget.

How Illinois health insurance plans work with indemnity policies?

Illinois medical insurance – indemnity plans carry far lenient guidelines than managed care policies. Review these questions and answers about indemnity policies:

How Indemnity Plan Works?

Do indemnity plans have stringent guidelines?
On the contrary, indemnity plans are quite flexible. Patients are entitled to select medical providers and health facilities, make doctor changes, and so forth. The flexibility to seek care from different physicians entails patients filing their own medical claims and paperwork.

How do indemnity plans differ from managed care plans?
With a managed care (in example, health insurance Illinois plan), patients have a specific pool of medical practitioners to choose from; while, indemnity plans do not impose any network requirements. The flexibility comes at a slightly higher cost. The indemnity health plan generally has higher out-of-pocket costs than managed care plans (HMOs, PPOs). With managed care, doctor’s visits are usually a fixed rate. (Be sure to compare Illinois medical insurance services and costs of the indemnity plan to managed care policy.)

Do indemnity plans include coinsurance?
Most indemnity plans include coinsurance, which means that insurance is shared between the Illinois medical insurance company and the account holder. Generally, policies will cover 80 percent, leaving the remaining 20 percent for the insured.

Are there any lifetime limitations on indemnity plans?
Lifetime limitations are another characteristic of the indemnity plans. Most insurance brokers recommend Illinois medical insurance plans with a minimum of $1,000,000.

Who are the best candidates for an indemnity policy?
Indemnity plans are right for the person, who requires flexibility due to their lifestyle. Indemnity plans are conducive for people who travel, have home in different cities, special needs patients, and individuals with cash reserves to cover the deductible.

Where can I obtain a no-hassle Illinois medical insurance quote?
By clicking on “Illinois health insurance quote,” you can be sure to obtain several competitive options.

Having Illinois health Insurance can be the difference between life and death. In an alarming study released on September 17, 2009 by the Harvard School of Public Health, data showed that more deaths are related to people who are uninsured, than those, who die due to kidney disease (43,000), cervical cancer (3700) aortic aneurysms (14,000) Research suggests that not having health insurance accounts for almost 44,000 deaths each year.

The federally sponsored survey involved physical examinations and comprehensive interviews of Americans aged 17 to 64. Researchers compiled data from the National Center for Health Statistics previous study, from the Third National and Nutrition Examination Survey. The authors analyzed reports, evaluating the relationship between Americans who were uninsured, major illnesses ailments and heightened health risks. (The study included consumers with and without Illinois health insurance).

The findings depicted that there was a higher rate of emergency room visits, poorer preventative care and management of chronic diseases than Americans, who did have medical coverage. Additional findings showed that uninsured Americans had achieved better wellbeing once they were of age to qualify for Medicare.

Meanwhile, with almost 40 million uninsured Americans, the Illinois Department of Public Health indicates that more than 250,000 adults and children do not have Illinois health insurance. With the growing number of public health center closings coupled with the inflating cost of medical care, forgoing Illinois Health Insurance is a sickening prospect.

Buying small business health insurance in Illinois— strategies for maximizing coverage and minimizing cost.

With almost 1 million small businesses in Illinois, proprietors are perplexed by how to save on small business health insurance. Cost is the number one deterrent for small businesses unable to afford health insurance coverage. Conversely, a report, published by eHealthInsurance indicates that employees consider health insurance golden, second to financial compensation. The question becomes: what can small businesses in Illinois do to reduce health insurance costs?

Although contracted employees don’t require insurance benefits, talent retention is the underlying incentive for the corporation with fewer than 100 employees to extend medical coverage. Use the following tactics to shop for affordable small business Illinois health insurance.

1)	Ask employees to prioritize their health benefits. Educating employees about the astronomical costs of health insurance presents inspiration to help cost containment. Employers should ask how much each worker is are willing to contribute to their health insurance, identifying which benefits are necessities for a viable health plan.

2)	Given the requests, select a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) along with a health reimbursement account (HRA). (HDHPs typically have a $1200 to $4000 deductible). An HRA is an account funded by the employer to compensate qualified out-of-pocket expenses and/or deductibles. These reimbursement accounts can be carried over for several years.

Meanwhile, high deductible health plans combined with a health reimbursement accounts have been found to reduce small business health insurance in Illinois by a minimum of 25 percent.

3)	Consider other health insurance accessories. For example, disease management programs are designed to help employees, suffering from chronic illnesses, improve their well being by working with a staff appointed medical professional and making lifestyle changes. Flexible-spending debit cards allow workers to apply pretax dollars for expenses not covered under health insurance plans to cover medical costs (in example over-the-counter (OTC) medications).

4)	Obtain a minimum of three different health insurance quotes from a licensed agent. Mike Novelli, an Illinois health insurance representative, recommends obtaining health insurance quotes from providers with a minimum rating of a B+ or better.
5)	Since, insurance policies are complex in nature, be sure to ask your insurance agent to clarify as many details as possible before opting for a plan.

Is affordable Illinois health insurance an oxymoron? The old adage: “You get what you pay for,” is applicable to the cheap health insurance coverage. But, more and more underinsured are bamboozled by marketing jargon and the fine print exclusions. For some 40+ million Americans without health insurance, there is a lack of consumer information about buying a medical insurance policy.

A small business owner of Elgin Illinois, who operated a snowplow business, a heart attack left him financially devastated. Despite his cheap health insurance coverage, unbeknownst to him – the company was a sham. The bogus health insurance company commandeered the premiums, which he paid for more than two-years.

Once upon a time, these health insurance scams affected a small percentage of the population. In the beginning of the millennium, approximately 100,000 policyholders were scammed by fake health insurance companies, accounting for more than $85 million dollars of unpaid medical bills.

Today, these bogus cheap health insurance policies are national, affecting people in Illinois and across the nation. From the discount medical card, the dreaded disease policy (a policy which says that it covers chronic ailments such as cancer, heart disease) to the faith-based health plan, these inexpensive health scams cost the consumer in the end.

The cheap health insurance inflicts an aftermath of financial devastation. Once the unsuspecting policyholder develops an illness, necessitating hospital stay, these illicit insurance companies disappear without a trace. Meanwhile, consumers are saddled with an outrageous hospital bill, and the stigma of a “pre-existing medical condition,” rendering them uninsurable.

Nevertheless, two tips may safeguard consumers against being victimized by Illinois health insurance fraud.

1. As due diligence is necessary, be sure to conduct your own background check, researching the Illinois health insurance company. Call the State of Illinois Attorney General’s office to confirm that the company holds a current license and does not have any reports or complaints. If your investigation determines that the Illinois health insurance provider not licensed or if the agency alleges that they are exempt from adhering to regulatory guidelines, it is an indication to continue shopping for another policy.

2. Obtain a quote from a legitimate insurance agent. Although a reputable insurance broker won’t offer cheap Illinois health insurance coverage, you’ll have the peace of mind that your medical bills will be paid if any unforeseen health crisis occurs.
